All of Dayspring’s programs occur at the Visions for Education™ Resource Center, a small building at 5351-53 Park Heights Avenue that also serves as the organization’s office space and a resource center for parents and teachers. While Dayspring is able to serve about 20 children in each of our programs, this is only a small fraction of the students in the area who could benefit from rich afterschool and summer school programming.
The Visions for Education™ Capital Campaign, which aims to remodel a second facility on our one-acre campus, will effectively create a world-class educational center that will increase our capacity to serve children five-fold. The new facility will be poised to fill a vital need in the current educational climate by creating new programs to serve as models for educating children who have not traditionally had access to high-quality educational settings.
The facility’s high-tech learning environment will include:
With the support of scientists and technology professionals, students will participate in year-round research-based programs that strengthen basic as well as higher-order skills. Children will also engage in visual and performing arts activities under the supervision of artisans from various academic disciplines. In addition to programming for children, the center will sponsor professional development opportunities for teachers of diverse student populations and will host year-round outreach and cultural events for families and community residents.
Your donation will not only help to bring about much-needed change in the current education climate, it will help to transform the lives of deserving children and families.
